Adding Candidates
Adding Candidates
In the Candidates Section you can add candidates to your organization.
Candidates are the users who will be assessed using the interviews. They can be anyone; such as external job applicants or internal organization members undergoing training.
After clicking the “Add Candidate” button, you will see a form where you can enter the candidate’s email address. You may also optionally add their name and notes about them. Note that completing this form does not send an email to the candidate.
Once we click the “Add Candidate” button in this form, we are taken back to the main Candidates section page. Here, you can continue adding candidates, or edit and delete them.
Now we can assign a candidate to an existing interview.
Adding a Candidate to an Interview
Click the “Set Interviews” button for a given candidate to select which interview (or interviews) they will take part in.
In our example, we are assigning our candidate to a single interview. We also select the option to generate invite URLs for the interview.
These invite URLs are unique to the candidate and interview and can be used only once. You can view these invite URLs on the candidate and interview detail screen, which we will review shortly.
After clicking the “Save” button, we return to the main Candidates section. For our candidate, under the Interview column, we now see that they are assigned to an interview (“Intermediate DevOps” in our example), and the status of that interview is “Not started.”
Inviting a Candidate to an Interview
If we click on the link in the Interview column for our candidate (“Intermediate DevOps - Not started” in our example), we are taken to the candidate and interview detail screen.
This is how the page looks initially, before the candidate starts the interview.
Here, you can copy the scenario interview invitation links (URLs) and send them to the candidate by whatever means and timing you prefer. For example, you may choose to give the candidate the scenario URL at the beginning of a live interview while you’re speaking with them synchronously.
Alternatively, you can email the candidate the invitation URL in advance if you want them to complete the scenario independently and asynchronously.
